O Log - Mt. Penn

Alot of people like this map, but it is not one of my favorites. I think it looks physical, and I think it is more physical than it looks: rock, laurel, and lines. It seems like an injury waiting to happen, and I always come home pretty banged up. The physicalness seems to detract from what I enjoy the most about orienteering, navigation and execution at max speed. The problem is that it is frustrating here as I can never run close to max due to the terrain, and I'm not at all tired when I finish. (And if I had a nickel for every time I've climbed that rocky hillside, I would not need to get a job).

Well anyway, I had a decent run today. I was under 9min/k, and I think anything under 10 is a victory for me at this place. I tried to take choices that were less physical where possible -- I doubt they were faster (for me), but they certainly were more pleasant.
